Jeff Sadowski Bio
Born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, Jeff Sadowski has been known locally for his fantastic art since his early childhood. His relentless approach for delving deep inside his imagination and laying those images down on paper were something special. Growing up as a kid in the early 70's, it was Saturday morning TV and the psychedelic colors and kooky images decorating his breakfast cereal boxes that were his ground zero. Combine that now with his love of the surrealists of the early 20th century and you have a unique blend of Surreal, Pop and Low-brow imagery that makes his art unique and mysterious.
Jeff moved to California in the early 80's. In retrospect, his 20 years spent there soaking up the art scene and culture of the Bay Area added a whole new dimension to his creativity. On top of doing numerous album covers while in California, his paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. including California, Chicago, Santa Fe,a three year span being juried into Surreal Salon 15, 16, and 17 at the Baton Rouge Gallery in Louisiana, 2 group shows at the La Luz De Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, the Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee Wisconsin, and twice in group shows at the Milwaukee Art Museum. He has been published twice in Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art.
"Surrealists are role models of irreverence toward the fact that all one's work should look alike." - Unknown
